I am thinking about buying a small Sebenza.
By looking around I found the different lug options. silver/blue one/double lug
I did not find them anywhere in europe. So I will have to order overseas.
Can I order direct at Chris Reeve?
Is a right hand sebenza with double lug easy to open in the weak hand?
Is there any difference (except the obvious; colour and ambidextous use) in these Sebenzas?

Best

Peter,

You can order direct from CRK, expect a wait though. I prefer double lugs on my Sebenza's, I don't have a problem opening with either hand.

Or if you find a Sebenza you like just send it to them and they can add the double lugs for you and the turnaround time would be much shorter than waiting on a knife.

Check out the video below, I found it very helpful when I was trying to decide between single vs double thumb lugs for my 1st Sebenza.

i have all of mine in double lug. i don't find it hard to open with the left hand, closing is not as smooth though :p

My large Insingo has a single lug and my large Sebenza Classic has double lugs. After using both I have to say that I prefer the double over the single.

I don't have any problems opening the Sebenza double thumb lug either right or left handed. I like the ability to do both. It adds more versatility to the knife IMO.

Is there a benefit to having the single lug? Cause even if you are rightly, if you have something in your right hand, wouldn't it be nice option to be able to reach across your body with your left hand, take your knife out and be able to open it with one hand? And the same goes for if you are left?
So besides the reason that you might save a few pennies on metal, what other reason would there to be to get just a single lug?

Does anyone hate the double lug? And if so, why?

Thank you for your opinions and the video.
So there is no disadvantage about the double lug version, correct?

The only big advantage of the single lug is the availability.

If you buy from somewhere else you can send it in to CRK and it cost $35 for the dbl lug plus the return shipping. Or just order your knife from CRK(but they're back ordered, so time won't be on your side)

A person can install the double lugs by himself/herself right? Or do you have to ship it to them to install?

I also prefer the double lug. Besides being able to open with the left hand, I think it adds symmetryto the knife. The smalls are not as easy to open left handed(presuming you are right handed), but I have always been able to get them open.
The knife needs to be sent in to CRK to add double lugs . They are press fitted.

+1, +1... :d
