I've just noticed that my Spyderco Lum Chinese Folder has a little blade wobble. It's not vertical blade play. It's not horizontal blade play. It's (I guess) torsional (?) blade play, but only at the top. The handle scales are almost flush with the blade on the bottom (edge) side but there is a much larger gap on either side of the blade on the top (spine) side. I have noticed that the blade stop spacer is wider than the black spacer in the handle. Is this normal? or should the blade stop spacer be shorter (same width as the black spacer)? I called Spyderco factory service but the person that I talked to basically said "send it in and we'll take a look at it". I don't want to spend the money to send it back if this is considered "acceptable". If it is just a spacer length problem is there anything about the eccentric pivot that would make working on this myself a problem? I know this model was on backorder status and I was wondering if someone ran out of spacer "size x" and figured spacer "size y" was close enough.

Mine does that as well. Not enough for me to really notice day-to-day, only when it gets cleaned and inspected. In looking at it now, I see the gap yer talking about too. Hmmm never noticed that. Maybe take it apart and do a tiny bit of bending to close that gap? Have to look into that.
