Hello everyone. First post! I've been lurking reviews and finding answers to my questions here for a while now, though.

I was just wondering if anyone else found the large Lum Chinese folder awkward when clipped in a front pocket. The closed length or weight wasn't an issue; it just feels like I have a DVD in my pocket O_o
I know the Nishijin CF model is more than an ounce lighter and has smaller dimensions but does the back of the blade arc/protrude out as far when closed?

The "DVD in the pocket" comparison was kinda exaggerated but I still love the knife. I guess I can call this an uptown problem :D

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is the same model after all. You must wear skinny jeans, right?

Lol, just to clarify, I talking about the C143GP Large Lum Chinese Folder vs. C65CFP Chinese Folder Nishijin Glass Fiber Handle. The Nishijin CF is smaller so I thought the blade may protrude less.

And actually, I wear boot or baggy jeans. I keep my cellphone in the same pocket so two flat, wide objects don't make for comfort. Probably something else I should have mentioned. The Nishijin is in transit so we'll see i guess.

This is the only Spyderco Lum Chinese that I have, and it carries fine. However, I don't keep anything else in the same pocket that I carry my knife in, whether in the front right, or rear right, or right cargo pocket.

It is the width from the blade spine to the back strap of the knife. The large Lum in extremely large in that regard. It is a very difficult knife to carry and does take up almost all of the front pocket. Compared to something like a BM 710 that almost disappears in the pocket but has even more cutting surface. But the Large Lum is still a cool knife :D

Thanks for your feedback guys. Judas pretty much hit the nail on the head so I took the clip off and wear it in a Husky cellphone belt clip if I need it.
The Nishijin Chinese Lum is considerably smaller than the Large Chinese Lum. Dimensions are always pictured differently when reading them :/
My only worry is about 1" above the clip is visible in the pocket, tip up or down. It doesn't sit very low. NY LE have been fairly unforgiving about this.

And nice pics of your ti Chinese Lum, Gooey! I'm afraid to ask about the beast on the dyno
