I had to call this the NS watch because I don't remember its model number. Anyway, got one of these a few months ago, used, and I love it. One question, though, is that black composite piece that rotates in the bezel has a lot of play in it (about 1/2mm). It's enough to be annoying and that it rattles around and makes noise when I move my arm. Is there a way to get it to stop moving, and is this normal for these watches, or does it mean something was broken on it at some point? I never twist it, so I suppose I could put a little G-10 (something that won't rot in the wet) shim in there to lock it in place, but I was curious what your thoughts were...

I've owned three Luminox NS watches (of different models) and handed quite a few more. No, a loose bezel is not normal.

Suggestions:
  1. I've never needed to use Luminox warranty, but have heard some horror stories. Having worked in the warranty service industry and intimately know that end of the business, I can't believe it's bad 100% of the time; rather that the bad things I've heard are exceptions to the rule. You may wish to try sending it back for warranty repair. If I had a significant issue with one of my Luminox watches, I wouldn't hesitate to send it back for repair.
  2. I have a local watch repair guy who does a zillion things for me on my wife's and my watches (such as polishing, periodic maintenance and oiling, crystal replacement, adjusting accuracy, etc.). You may wish to try having someone like that so a little service on the bezel. The rates the guy I use hasn't been bad and at times, have been quite reasonable. So trying this type of option might give you a quick turn around possibly for slightly more than you'd spend on shipping back to Luminox for warranty service.
  3. Personally, unless your NS watch is not your prized watch and you don't care deeply for it, I'd avoid the "shim" option.
Good luck!
