Good Day,

Any good suggestions for a lunch sack?

No, I don't need it in MultiCam : )

But, any non-traditional solutions would be appreciated...

Though, I would prefer that they not be obviously mil source or mil inspired, so a buttpack would not do it.

Thank you.

Yeah, check out Duluth Trading Company on the internet; www.duluthtrading.com. They specialize in all sorts of work related gear. I've bought a lot of different things from them over the years, and I've always been satisfied with quality of product and service. They have three different sizes of soft-sided lunch sacks. One has enough room to pack about three meals in it. All of them come, I think, with a little "cooler" in the bottom to pack along a can of soda or something. I have a couple of their older models, but will upgrade sometime.

If you have any doctor friends, sometimes they get nifty lunch sacks as souvenirs from drug company reps. Only drawback is that they are emblazoned with the name of the drug they are promoting. Otherwise, they're fairly sturdy. I have one in my bug-out-bag right now.

Try one from Target, Walmart or Kmart, they're cheap, and if they are not beaten up too badly, should last for awhile. I've been going on three years with my current one. If you want to upgrade, try Dicks Sporting Goods, or if you're feeling preppy, LL Beans. If you're feeling hunter preppy, try Cabelas. Sportmans Guide also has some, they usually have military used and unused packs, they should have lunch sacks.

I don't know about quality on these, but the ones carried by the various "marts" seem to hold up pretty good. Some even have a seperate compartment for a cold pack. Several people I work with use these. Myself, I'm using a beat up old Thermos brand "bucket".

A small cooler works well. I have a couple of neat lunch buckets made by a friend who is an insulator by trade. It is a five gallon bucket with a screw top lid. The sides and bottom has a thick layer of this black foam insulation glued to it. Inside there is a thick disc of insulation the diameter of the bucket. You pack ice cubes or blue ice with your drinks on the bottom. Place the disc on top of the drinks. Put your hot lunch on top of that and seal the bucket tight. By lunch time, your drinks are still ice cold and your meal is still warm. Use the bucket for a chair at lunch. Works awesome.
