Hey all, im Nicodimas and have come to take over these forums. Not entirely true because more or less I just lurk and read. I am however a knife knut to the core. I'm preety sure I have come to the right place. Been into knives since i was six or seven and i love my benchmades. Though I was initially introduced to spyderco which is why im probably such a fan of a quality built knife.
Though my spyderco knife is throughly trashed as i had it as a kid and was not a bit to nice to the knife. Now my EDC is a Benchamde 710, gotta love the axis lock! Also, just recently ordered my first Custom a Hinderer in fact i'll post pics when it gets here. Though it will be a bit as im a poor college student.. More poor because im totally in love with knifes :D.

Well greetings to you all!

welcome aboard. many of us were started on to quality knives through spyderco. More than a few of the folks in here still aren't off spyderco, and like me will give them the best reviews and opinions.

What model did you have as a kid?

Welcome! My first quality one-hander was a Spyderco Delica, sadly I lost it. My tastes have changed a lot since that knife, but I still remember opening it up at Christmas. Already into customs huh; sounds like a man after my own heart! I hope to pick up some good ones at the Blade Show next year, until then I'll get by with the 50+ other knives I've got  . Once again, welcome!

It actually looks like a delica but on the top has a very small false edge. I actually found it in california at my sisters soccer tournement a long time ago, my parents would never let me get the knife i truly wanted. A hundred bucks on a knife no way! They did collapse and got me 10 knives for 100 bucks on the home shopping network. They where all handforged in pakistan;) . Though i was happy at the time about two weeks later was not so happy when they started rusting. They are now rusted all the way through. Kinda laugh about that till this day.

But, i got my revenege paid retail for a couple of benchmades.

I think what you have is the spydie worker. it's the first spyderco knife using the hole, I think?

about your story, parents are funny people - they spend 100 to get you 10 inferior knives, but can't spend the same 100 to get you a good one? I'd much rather have quality, then quantity any time of the day.

Nicodimas - Welcome to BF. It's a learning experience and a whole lot of fun wrapped up in one.

hey another poor college student like me:) welcome to bf there goes all your money though, i swear its really bad once u buy your first custom. i picked one up 2 years ago now all i buy is either custom or semi custom, but welcome and have fun:0

ps my first good knife was a spydie with the little clip for your belt loop, maybe called a mountineer, it was my 8th grade graduation pressent, sadly it got misplaced

Girls are less expensive than knives? Ummm, Shane, nothing personal, but what planet do you live on? ;)

Notice I said "in the long run". It is like an investment. Providing the market doesn't crash (read - divorce), I bet that many of you guys spend way more on your knives and toys, then you do on your wife or GF over the course of a year. Think about it...Let me know if I'm wrong...... :)

Well, sure, if we're talking about current cash outlay. However, if we add up everything, economically and emotionally, that females have cost me during my lifetime, then it becomes a whole 'nother ballgame. My hobbies are much cheaper. ;)

*totals up all his hobbies that hes paid for over the years....*
*totals up what his GF has cost him in the 9 months weve been together...*

Girls are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more expensive.

but I still say you can't differ your "hobbies" from your "gal". They become the same thing :P

John.
