Just wondering if anybody bought something ugly for some reason and actually love it.The reason i ask is i got an ontario sp8 survival machette.I thought ideal survival big blade, turns out as far as i am concerned i was right ugly but always reach for it if i'm off to the woods.I have beat this thing the coating is worn it's getting better looking every day.Any other comments on the sp8 good or more interestingly bad and any other ugly beauties. Danny.

I've had one for over 20 years .... great for setting up blinds while hunting. ... I wouldn't say it's ugly. I don't like the sheath it came in, but I made a better one. It sure works for what it was intented.

most of my favorite knives are ugly (in the sense of being function-oriented anti-art knives) like Ranger, Busse, Scrap Yard, Becker. There are beautiful knives that perform as well (high-end customs), but i can't afford any of them...

I've been buying Spydercos for years. Recently, I've gotten the Endura 4 and a stainless Kiwi. The E-4 has hardly left my side since I got it. The Kiwi was just never my thing. I got one as a small beater; now, I'm planning on getting another.
