Does anyone here own any of Lynn Griffith's knives or have opinions on them. He is a member of the Arkansas Knifemakers Guild, but the link to his sight does not work. I'm getting one of his knives to make up the difference in a trade with another forum member. I wouldn't usually take a knife without knowing anything other than a description, but I have traded with this person before and I know he is reputable and will trade back if the knife is unsatisfactory. Actually, I respect this persons opinion and am hoping for a pleasant surprise.

Lewis,
I realize this response is probably way to late. If you would like info on me now, please visit my website.

Thanks,

Was a reply to a December '98 thread really necessary?

For crying out loud, this isn't the self promotion forum.

Please, a little self control is in order.

Yeah, you're right Tom, I should be thankful for the small things.

TomW,
he did too but in the general discussion forum. "Sniper" (custom knife)Picture

Guess we can all start advertising here huh?

one other question...is his name Grififth or Griffith? his replies say Grififth but his address says Griffith.

Blues,
i agree. for a tactical maker he is always posting pics in custom forum, general discussion forum but i never see him in the tactical forum! weird This does look like the Lynn Griffith online brochure.

Let's not forget our cardinal rule, folks.

No personal attacks.

I've already discussed with Lynn why he needs to change what he is doing, and he's agreed, so let's move on. No need to rub his face in it, right? When the shoe is on the other foot, none of us like being bad mouthed, so let's end this.

I think a gallery would be excellent, and almost completely end this line of griping (in which I'm as guilty as any) so we could move on to a new one

I'm actually looking around right now at some gallery scripts, and am currently working on a show calender as well so we'll see what happens.

In the meantime though, Photopoint is pretty handy for showing off pictures.

Spark,

I agree and apologize to Lynn. Sorry Lynn.
I think a gallery would be great and let
all of us show off our stuff and collectors
show off their prized knives.

I am very saddened to see a knifemaker that I have always respected, and admired reduced to speaking negatively of me in a public forum.

I want to thank Spark for speaking to me directly with his complaint as apposed to the other seemingly popular alternative.

The Gallery is a great idea. Lots of bandwidth though - hope we can get this place to be self supporting.

Lynn,

Again i apologize. i was just feeling low myself after my little spat with les and feel bad that i dropped to his level. there was no excuse for it.

through all of the complaining and apologizing ive read in this thread, nobody ever did answer the original question. what are lynn's knives like. I'm thinking of purchasing one. i like the way his knives look, and i like what he has to say in his bio. personally i like the pictures.

thanks richard i'm hoping to get him to make me a sniper myself, you just confirmed what anybody can see in the pictures. he makes a good knife.

I can now answer my own question as I did trade for the sniper. It was very well executed. Finish was on par for the price range, edge was razor sharp and stayed that way, although I did not do any hard cutting with it. The kydex sheath was cleanly done. The only thing I didn't like was the tip was a little thin. I ended up selling the knife, but not for any reason other than I wanted something new.

Lewis,
Thanks for the response. After talking to you, I think I have figured out exactly which "Sniper" you had. Unless I am mistaking, you had the exact "Sniper" that was in the July 99' issue of Tactical Knives Magazine. That knife was made well over a year ago. I have improved since then (at least I think so). Next time I do a show in your area, make sure you come by and visit with me. Would be great to meet you.

On a different note. Hi Murray White. Good to see you here too. And yes Loerchner knives are totally awesome!
