I have a story-

A few weeks ago I broke a Gurkha Kukri in half doing some chopping. I sent it back to CS and asked for a replacement. Now, first, I was reluctant because I have heard so many bad things about CS warranties. That coupled with the fact that this was a factory 2nd didn't encourage me any (CS has a "no return" policy on 2nds...). The only problem was that the flaw was obviously in the heat treat so I figured I had nothing to lose, so I wrote a small letter and returned the knife. Less than 10 days later (tonight when I got home) a brand new (well, 2nd) Gurkha Kukri was on my doorstep. I was extremely pleased with the service I received.
Lynn and CS receive so much bad lip service here (especially concerning their advertising and warranty service) that I felt they deserved a shot of good PR. Lynn, you da' man!!!

Satisfied CS customer-

Nice to hear good things about LT and CS. I don't mind the over-the-top advertizing and LT's bluster too much, as long as it isn't taken too seriously.

Considering it was a 2nd, that's not bad at all.

Lynn and CS generally do well in the "bang for the buck" department, sometimes exceptionally so. If someone is buying a "budget self defense blade" they've got some damn fine offerings in folders, especially the Scimitar in the 4" range, the Gunsite in the 5" and the CSVG in the 6". This is assuming you can't afford a REKAT of course

.

SOG of all people are becoming more of a threat in the "budget street defense folder" market. If Lynn ever gets serious about advanced modern lockworks, he could really kick some butt

. The upcoming SOG Pentagon Elite 2 is threatening to wipe the floor with the Gunsite at a similar price range...
