Hi All

I have been looking at pics of the M43, what a great looking knife. What are the thoughts/history of this knife !

Any info would be appreciated

Brendan

I don't know any old history, but recent history here demonstrates this is the blade that has men whimpering like children, cackling like hens when they 'score' one, hoarding like old men and gold once in their hands, and shining in their dreams at night like virgins seeking love.

a bit of a cult.

If you can get one away from Tsimi then forget about buying lottery tickets. Anyone that fortunate has used up 3 lifetimes of luck. :p

It'll happen for me one day I swear! That's why I haven't ever bought even one lottery ticket.....

Rog,
Kiss "one"BYE,BYE!HEE!One left!! DO I REALLLLLY NEED ANOTHER??

HIKV has started up again with even worse symptoms, I have been using my wwii model with delight but have not even sharpened it yet.

Think of the khuks, Jim! When you are gone, who will care for them?

Fortunately, Spence's Home for Foundling Khuks is always open. I'm sure you'll sleep easier knowing that there is a place where they will be sharpened and oiled in a safe, nurturing, supportive environment.

Jim, you can't retire, we need you here to be the voice of "reason and sanity". I need a M43 but I keep getting other stuff and bumping it down the list. Soon I hope.

Jim, retire? Yeah RIGTH!! And I'm the Duke of Elington.:p

Now to a History of the HI M43: Terri Sisko (sp?) Sent Uncle Bill a wood model of one of his M43's then it was sent to Nepal. Durba and a KNN produced the first two. The Durba went to Jim (prepayed I think) and the KNN M43 to Terri because it was the closest to the model (Durba "Inproved" opon the design). The M43 became such a hit that every time a batch comes in a feeding frenzy ensuses (If Jim hasn't already claimed them) and Uncle Bill just can't keep any instock. So, if Uncle Bill still has any left from this last Shipment, snag them up quick before Jim strikes again. he he he.

BTW There are 3 new "smilies" and I think this one fits Jim the best when he misses an M43::grumpy: he he he:D

Heber,
That smilie also fits for those times Tsimi gets a hold of a bad taco.
As does this one.

p.s. speaking of Durbas, I got Godzilla out among the trees last night. Since we had a pretty big fire up her on Glade Park last week (5,000 ac), I got to chop a whole lotta burned stumps. yowza!

Cool, I'm glad you were able to get some use out of him. Would you mind writing up a field report? I'd love to hear how he performed for you.

That's a great idea Heber.
I haven't seen field reports on the same khuk. The different tests/woods/etc. should prove interesting.

I still have one or two. Has anybody noticed that the Caveman hasn't been around? Maybe he did retire.
