A couple of fixed blade knives for your consideration....
The first person to post “I'll take it” without contingencies and a follow up e-mail will receive purchasing priority.
Please ask any questions prior to making a purchase commitment. My top priority is a hassle free transaction. I'll be more than happy to provide additional / higher resolution photos and discuss questions via PM, e-mail, or over the phone. I've done my best to accurately describe the condition of the knives I'm offering for sale, but there's always the issue of process variation and manufacturing tolerances inherent to this type of product so please inquire if there are issues of particular importance to you.
I will accept payment via USPS Money Order, or PayPal with a confirmed address per the pricing listed. That being said, please be aware that if you lack a track record on the forum I will prefer a US postal money order. Also, I will not use PayPal Gift, please don't ask. I will ship via USPS w/signature confirmation and provide insurance to CONUS only.
I'm not interested in any trades at this time.
I reserve the right to not do business with any individual without explanation. All sales are “as is, where is” and without warranty (except as provided by the manufacturer). All sales are final. By purchasing this item you are stating that you are 18 years of age or older and abiding by all local, state and federal laws concerning the purchase, transportation and possession of this item.
M. D. Caldwell 1-7: Dark Brown Micarta handle, Stone Washed blade. This knife is new as received from Matt Caldwell. It's never been used, or sharpened. All of the specs are listed on the flier pictured below, but it's worth noting a few things: This limited edition knife (120 pieces) has what I find to be the most comfortable handle I've had the pleasure of holding. As can be seen in the photo below it's got a pronounced palm swell that just works, at least for me. It's also a very nice looking dark brown micarta, which I don't recall seeing before. The stonewashed blade finish should hold up quite well to use, showing far fewer scratches than satin, or bead blasted would. I've previously read reviews of Matt's work on this forum and find comments about the very good fit and finish to be completely accurate; it's nicely done. However, there is a flaw that can be seen in the spline photo. The grind on the right side of the knife is just slightly off where the full flat grind starts (just over 1” from the handle). It's only noticeable when looking at the spline, and is of no functional consequence, but Matt pointed it out when I bought the knife so I'm doing the same. If you take a look at other sale threads I've previously posted (mostly in the Busse sub-forum) you'll note that I don't typically provide positive commentary on the knives I'm selling, I just point out the facts and any imperfections I can find. I'm making an exception because I think Matt's knives are outstanding and a good value. I also think this is not widely known, which will hopefully change in the future. So, you're probably wondering by now if I'm so high on Matt's knives why am I selling this one? It's because I'm drastically reducing the size of my collection and will be keeping Matt's first knife, the 1-6 which is very close in form and function to the 1-7. There are still a few of these on dealers shelves; the price I've seen is $300 plus S&H. I'm offering this knife and new Spec Ops Combat Master Sheath (Large) that came with the knife for $210 USPS MO / $217 PayPal SOLD
Bark River Forager with Sheath: Satin A2 blade, Green Micarta handle (at least that's how it was described when I purchased it; it looks BLACK to me). This is the long discontinued hidden tang version of the Gameskeeper. This is a 1st production run knife that I purchased from a fellow forum member as “never used”. This appears to be accurate, though there are some minor imperfections that I've tried to capture in the photos below (slight finish variations on the blade and spline, light scratches on the nickel silver hand guard, small nick on the underside of the blade). These are pretty minor issues, but they may be an issue if the goal is a display piece for the collection. Bark River's specs: 4.25” blade, 9.1” overall length, .217” thickness (though I measure closer to .200”
, 5oz weight. $120 USPS MO / $125 PayPal
