M-Tech Folder MT052 Is a Copy of What?

I saw this knife the other day and someone told me it was a copy of a "real knife" but couldn't remember which one.... Any ideas?

Can't say, but looks like something from MoD, or perhaps Kershaw.
Don't know about customs, though.

It is advertised as 6 inches closed and 10 inches open....if that helps.

It does look rather Ken Onion (Kershaw) -ish. Particularily the Boa, but the finger cutout is more pronounced.

I don't think it is a blatant copy, but I am most reminded of Ken Onion.

I know I've seen the shape before, but it is still a maxim knife, just in different colors.

Although, after reviewing the Pierela website, I am convinced that it was one of his designs that was either stolen, or at least, heavily borrowed from.

^^not a bad design combo. quality of the product is an entirely different nightmare.

I'd agree with Planterz and say the Kershaw Boa. Pretty darn similar.

The progresivly smaller holes and the blade shape made me imediately think of Kershaw/Ken Onion. But the finger cut out looks like something off an Emerson.

I don't think the Boa is that similar. The handle is completely different, and the blades are only somewhat alike.

The handle is definitely a Pirela design, many of his folders use that handle. I think the blade is just a generic recurve drop-point.
