I was buying my smoking supplies at the local smoke shop, and as usual, I looked at the wall hanger junk swords and the various knives he has for sale along with everything else, it's kind of a "junk store' in addition to having video poker and tobacco stuff, a bit of everything. The proprietor knows I'm a collector and user, and today he said "you know how you always say the knives I sell are pretty crappy?" he reached under the counter and brought out a knife I had never seen before. he had just got it in. It was an M-Tech, as in the chinese made rip[off M-Techs, but it looked SO MUCH like the old Junglee Fighter, which you can't find anywhere that I bought it. Ok, here goes:

It kicks ass. Sorry, this thing is a BEAST. I swear to you the tang is 1/4". Micarta handles, decently contoured, the steel is only 440, but it's purpose is obviously not going to be for batoning firewood. I've enclosed a stock photo because my samsung G5 is back at Samsung and my current cell is a junker nokia to get me through until samsung fixes my G5, but take my word for it this knife is well worth the $15 bucks I paid for it. I can't find a single thing that would stop it from doing what it's intended to do, which would be fighting. It's just plain strong, with no discernable flaws other than they could have spent a little more time on fit and finish, but hey, $15. The sheath is absolute garbage, this knife is deserving of a much better sheath. I don't normally impulse purchase anything, but this knife was $15 well spent. the factory edge was "ok", but I can fix that.

I don't know about their fixed blades, but I've a Tac Force (same company as M-Tech) Executive A/O folder that
is very nice. Well made, locks up really good and takes a fine edge. Many well known companies such as
CRKT, Kershaw, Colt, Schrade, etc, even some Bucks are made in China. Not all China made knives are junkers.
My CRKTs (three models) and Kershaws are fine knives.

I agree that non all china made knifes are bad, but forgive my question kaotikross, wouldn't you be better off with a machete? If you had to fight, the reach, the sharpness and the speed of a machete are what you need.

that aside, there are several M-tech models that look very nice.

I am in the knife business, and have watched MTech develop their knives over the years. It now looks like they want to move their product upscale, which may or may not work. You got a good deal for $15, that's for sure. Some of the new MTech fixed blades retail for $40. Not sure if customers are ready for that yet.
