Aloha ALL,

FINALLY! I think I am one of the first to receive two of my latest designs, the M-TYPE and HYPER! Overall initial impressions are excellent, as these knives are built solid, have deep pocket carry clips, a REAL G10 scale, full "ala Mr. Reeves" framelock strength, AND are serial numbered! Only thing is, they all came tip down...a "sin" in my book! LOL...kidding! (Sorta)...

The Ti finish on the "bead blasted" PE M-TYPE is awesome. Kind of hard to describe, but it appears to have a "gun metal gray, smokey chrome" color to it. Notice how nice and W-I-D-E the blade of the M-TYPE is! This has a great, full in hand feeling, yet not bulky. Here are pics of both versions:

The HYPER turned out a bit smaller than the initial prototype that I had built, but it has a good in hand feel like the M-TYPE, and has the Subcom Folder's, "Open and Turn" ability in which upon fast opening, a quick turn in hand, and it's locked in! I have no pics of the PE version, as someone made a "boo-boo" at the warehouse in Germany and sent me a Magnum knife by accident. Here is the HYPER CE Black:

So...will I be carrying any of these new buggers? You betcha! I will be carrying the HYPER CE Black, and the M-TYPE CE Black in rotation with one of my Trances, Subcoms, and Spyderco Forum Lava. Now...where's my Torx wrench so I can "correct" the clip positions of my HYPER and M-TYPE users...LOL!!!
God bless and mahalo much ALL!

PS: Thanks Boker Germany...I think I actually beat Maarten this time in getting one of my knives! :p

Very nice Chad. I think the M-Type is calling my name, I really like that blade. Definitely like the low riding clips too.

Aloha jujigatame,

No, no...that was ME calling your name to check out this thread, since I got my designs before Maarten! But hey, if ya think it's the M-TYPE, than that's all good too!:p

Mahalo for checking out this thread and God bless!
Oh and SHHHHHH...listen...:D

Just in time for Christmas... that M-type is also calling my name... :)
Love them "nasty" serrations on that recurve Chad... ;)

He Chad ,

Glad you got your designs FIRST. Luckily Tobias sorted this out for you before the holidayseason. I think as the designer it is common sence you should be served first:D.

APLAUSE FOR TOBIAS

I got a Hyper PE commin in from wolfster. I prepaided it and should be in his shop tomorrow . Hopefully i get it this weekend.

I will post pics to compaire it to your CE one. And oh man that M-type is a beast.... I'll have to get one of those suckers too!!!

I thought too that the Hyper would be a little bigger. Especially the handle . But looks comfortable by your pictures to me.

Does it have a thicker slab on the framelockside as the subcoms/ Trances . From the pics it looks like a slightly thicker handle?

Man i can't wait to get mine!! They look great!! Love the bladeshape.

BTW what BOO-BOO did they send you? LOL

Will get back to you soon here and at the "pit".

Mahalo Brother :D

Both knives look excellent, however the M-TYPE is what I'm really excited for. The Trance is a wonderful design, but just a hair smaller than my hands would like. The M-Type doesn't look like it'll have any problem filling my grip. I also like the bladeshape of it.

Any idea when these will hit the US market?

EDIT: Forgot to ask, what's the weight of the M-TYPE?

Hi Vivi,

I love the look of them can't wait for my Hyper

I'don't know when your USA dealers will be havin them probably a week later at least i think. Hope you get yours before X-Mas.

According to the specs from the bokersite;

Hyper 100 grams
M-type 130 grams

Nice. Very very nice. Love the looks of them both. They look awesome. And real G10. Sweet!! Great job, Chad:thumbup:

Thanks Chad for the update, the intro, and the pic's. I was thinking the Hyper would be larger than the Trance. Now, I guess I will have to get both. The "M" looks great too, your pic's helped me here.
Waiting, waiting!

Your designs just keep raising the bar, looks like another excellent blade.

Ahhhhhh, again the confusion...that was ME calling out to you, so you could check out this thread so you could envision some Potterma-Pimpage!:p

Oh yeah...them serrations are indeed nasty and pointy...so much so, that I got spoiled by the "Scare-ations" on the MPT Black!

God bless and mahalo Knifebro!

Aloha Maarten,

You know I was just kidding in being thrilled at getting these knives before you right? No, no...not true! LOL!!!

Yes, if Tobias had anything to do with the speedy arrival of these, then bravo!

The HYPER has the same lockside thickness as the Subcom Folders, and a slightly thicker G10 side, due to a SS liner under the G10 scale for added strength. Feels good to me, kinda like a bigger SF!

The "Boo-Boo" was a Magnum Escape FB...tiny bugger!

Anyway, keep us posted on the arrival of the knife I do not yet have, a PE HYPER. Cripes, this was all in vain...I mean, look...you're still gonna beat me to it!

God bless and tot gauw!

Aloha Vivi,

Yes, the "M" is a brute. There is a bit of heft to it, at least to me when compared the Trance in pocket. Blade shape is nice, and I detected something "copper looking" at the pivot...bronze washer!!!

Not sure when it'll hit the US...Terry will know more about that.

Mahalo for your support, and it'll fit your mitts for sure!
God bless:cool:

Zdravo Bro233,

Mahalo Knifebro...yes, real G10 with a SS liner for strength...hey, SO SORRY I MISSED IT!!!:(

God bless and will make it up to you and 232.;)

Aloha Sir,

Thanks for checking out this thread, and glad the pics helped. Yes, the HYPER was supposed to have been a bit bigger "overall". However, it fits nicely in hand...like a larger SF.
The "M" OTOH, is a BEAST!!!

God bless and mahalo much!

Your designs just keep raising the bar, looks like another excellent blade.

Aloha tknife,

Yeah, and some folks think my designs are done after being in a bar! :D

Seriously, mahalo for your great comments, and also for taking the time to post about my latest designs.

God bless and take care:cool:

I'll be getting an M-Type as soon as they're available here.

What a great looking framelock!

Chad, the serrations on the comboedges of your MPT and MType are some of the SICKEST teeth I've ever seen.... (in a good way ;))

Aloha again Vivi,

Sorry for the cr*ppy pics, but as you can see, I was trying not to get my camera wet...it was slightly storming when I took these pics of the "M" compared to the Trance and Hyper...opened and closed, so ya get a better idea of the "M" and your hand size.

Oh yeah, get this...I measured the thickest point of the handle at about 1' 5/16"...the widest part of the blade is about 1' 1/4"!!!

God bless:cool:
