I am a knifemaker and have a collection of custom knives. One is a Seguine with a locking sheath. None of the ones I can find seem to have that. Can anyone help me find a value for it? It is in nearly new condition and was made in the early 70s.

Always a good idea to include a photo of the knife in question so folks are better able to help you with the info you want. You'll need to use a photo hosting site like tinypic or imgur. Good luck and welcome. There's a wealth of knowledge here for sure.:)

Not sure how to go about that. May be out of my league here. Do I have to download an app?

Just a country boy. But was taught knife making from my Dad.Searls Handmade Knives.on Facebook if you are interested or Google.

Tinypic.com is a good option since you can use it without having to sign up for an account. No downloading of anything required. Use the Choose File button to select a photo on your computer, add tags or use resize options if you want, then click the green Upload Now button. In the next window copy the url and tags under IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards and paste that into your reply here.

Hey mike that’s one of my great grandfathers. The sheath you are talking about is pretty rare. At the base of the blade there’s a notch where the lever in the sheath keeps it in place. This was I believe a patented design which didn’t go very far in production. If I could see pictures I could give you an accurate idea of what generation and how many were produced.
