unfortunately there will only be about 10,000 avaiable. i imagine they will be gone within 2 weeks.

Can't wait

Can't find any reference to M1 carbines being for sale on the CMP website. Can anyone provide a link?

my guess there gona be in the 400-500 range. i baught a national postal barreled reciever a while back for 115 btw.

29 December, 2006. The Army has transferred to the CMP a significant quantity of M1 Carbines. We are currently processing these carbines through our Inspection & Repair operations and expect to have some ready for sale by 1 March, 2007, but it may be sooner. More information will be posted on this web page as it becomes available.

At this time no decisions have been made as to grading, pricing, or limits. We are not accepting orders or establishing waiting lists at this time!!

Pity I can't get a licence here for one. Always wanted one but they were like hen's teeth in Zimbabwe and only got to see and try one. Lovely piece of hardware.

Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't mind owning an M1.

CMP has quit taking orders for the Inland carbines . . . they sold out in less than three weeks. Some 12,000 carbines headed toward new owners.

How many here have one on the way?

I am getting gitty for the Garands they should be getting in October. God (and funds) willing, I'm going to make sure I don't pass up the Garands this time around.

You and I may be in the same boat , I'm not sure if us California serfs are still allowed to own Garands or not.

I would love to have one !

Some years back there was a club here in the Valley that for $500 ( I think it was 5 hundred) you could join the Garand Kit Club/Class or some such , and you got a disassembled Garand , over the course of the class you were taught to build it from your parts , the history of the great rifle and how to shoot it accuratly , I wish I would have joined.... Ah well.

This native California serf has purchased two Garands and three rimfires from the CMP, which is the absolute best way, if you qualify, to get a Garand. Or a carbine I suppose though I've been there and done that and would rather have a Marlin 1894 in .357.
Anyway, visit www.odcmp.com and check into the qualifications. Many ranges and rifle clubs have "Garand matches" as a way to get people qualified.

ive got a inland, 4 52d barreled recievers, and a garand reciever coming this time around.

I just joined a CMP approved range. I'm taking advantage of the 760 rounds 30 06 in the clip, in the bandoleer for only 200.00!
