I really don't post many threads because most of my questions are already answerd somewhere else. That being said I need a way to get rid of the damn lawks lock on my M16-14's. I hate them and they are a pain in my a**!!

I know I read somewhere about putting in a washer of some kind but where would I find one and how would I get the right size? What should the washer be made of? Steel would probably be no good right :D ? Are there any other Ideas?

Warning: This will Void your Warranty, possibly cause injury, death, etc. etc.

1. Take the knife apart
2. Cut the tab off the LAWKS and grind it into as circular as you can.
3. Put everything back together.

You could also buy some phosphor bronze washers of different sizes and just experiment until it works well for you. I guess this would be the prefered method as it will actually improve the knife a bit.

Just buy an M16-14 folder, pre LAWKS system. Sell the one you have now, and put the money towards the older knife. Unless you want to keep the flipper option...
