Hello,All.I just need a few questions answered.I am not a full time sword collector.I just seen this sword and liked it,so I bought it.
It is,best I can tell, the M1843 Artillery or Engineer short sword. It's made in TOLEDO,SPAIN.It's dated 1897 (Spanish-American War era).It has the lions head as opposed to the circular round part w/ flaming bomb.I would like to know WHERE this type of sword was used. Was it in Cuba,Philippenes,or some other theater of war. There are no other marks, that I can tell. It's very well used, even as a weed whacker. It looks like it hit a fence a few times.ALSO,does anybody make a repro scabbard for these. If so,who.I thank-you for your time.
