Bought a sword at an estate sale. It is clearly marked as an Ames product and "1906" w/ Ordinance bomb. Went to the web, and most hits I found refer to the swrod at the Model 1906 Light Cavalry Saber. One site, however, insists it is the Model 1904 because, the site claims, 1904 is the year the design was adopted, although all examples were made in 1906. Any opinions as to true title of this item? Rare? Common?

NTA,
Thanks for the link. Make that two sites calling it a 1904 and twelve (so far) calling it a 1906. ?????!!!!. I was advised to try Swordforum.com. No wonder it's hard to pin things down from two hundred years ago when there are qeustinos about something as recent as 1904-06.
