I went shooting last weekend with a bunch of friends. all told we probably had some 30 different guns, incuding a .50 black powder muzzleloader, a world war II japanese infantry rifle (w/Imperial Seal), an AR-5, various 22 cal. rifles, a 30 cal jungle carbine, an M1 garand, a 12 gauge w/rifled barrel (for sabot rounds), and my new personal favorite: the 12 gauge coach gun.
I loved the M1, and was delighted with the way it turned old spray cans and empty ammo cases into so much shrapnel. The magazine eject is cool too. but the gun weighs a ton, and was not fun to carry around. The real beauty for me was the coach gun. I loved it because it is small, light, easy to use, easy to clean, wholy satisfying to shoot, and (with the proper ammo) will thoroughly destroy whatever you target happens to be at a reasonable range. I have decided I need my own.
Now, the gun I was using was a Stoeger and everywhere I look I am pointed back first to Stoeger. it looks good and the price is right (albiet more than I can afford at the moment). but I was wondering If any of the Shotgun inclined knifenuts here would know of any other manufactuers I should look at?
