Just noticed the Ritter Grips are fitted with M390 steel. (Old news is guess?)
I would guess this improves the line? How is M390 better than S30V? (Never had a blade with this steel.)
1. How hard is it to sharpen(compaired to S30V)?
2. Does it hold a hair shaving edge longer than S30V?

It has notably better wear resistance than S30V and, in my experience, doesn't seem to chip as readily. I would say they take about the same amount of time/effort to sharpen, but the RC of each individual blade might have a substantial impact on that. I don't find that either one holds a really hair-popping edge for a particularly long time, but M390 will dull to a very acceptable working edge and hold it for a long, long time.

That's just the experiences I've had with the two steels.

Thank you IM.
I had hoped it would keep the hair popping edge a long time, say like 204P. Oh well, moving right along here.:)

M390 and CTS_204P are basically the same steel, so you can expect them to perform the same if the heat treat and edge geometry are the same.

My best experience with keeping a really hair-popping edge is actually with BD1. It's just that after it loses that edge it goes dull really, really fast.

Oh my gosh is the M390 better. It was tough and held its edge much longer. I was also able to get a crazy uniform edge out of it as well
