M4 Dodo Rarity ?

Picked up a M4 Dodo Blade HQ exclusive in a trade, and was wondering how rare this one is (C80GM4S).


Emailed BladeHQ customer service, and they indicated that they could not disclose how many they originally had.

So,

1) Why the secrecy ?


2) Can the mods tell me about how many there were, or how rare this one is ?

Blade HQ commissioned them, it's up to them to reveal or conceal the production numbers.

Rare to me. I haven't seen any for sale but, then again, I have no interest in the Dodo.

However, 6 Jade G10/M4 Dodos sold recently on EB. Take a look under completed sales.

Next time there's a dealer exclusive I'm going to try to put 500 in my cart and see if I get a real total on hand.

The dodo was one of those knives wherein it’s weirdness was the allure. Wasn‘t for me.

Same. They work great for what they are, but I always had to carry a more practical knife for general use.

As for question one, isn't it obvious? FOMO. Even if you have a million of them, make people think they are rare and they are going to miss out if they don't act *Right Now!* so you can sell them all.
