I just traded for a BM 710 with this steel. Does anyone have any experience with this steel? Is it good?

It is a very poor steel. You must send it to me for proper disposal. :D

I just bought a BM760. Not sure if I like the knife but I love the steel so far.

I posted a review in the review section. It has held an edge really well so far, but the 760 is not a slicer so it can only do certain things. (no cutting down boxes with this thing)

I love M4, it gets very sharp and it has excellent edge retention. I also got a 760 but I am going to send it to Tom Krein to remove the tanto and hollow grind it into a pretty good slicer. So far M4 in my Krein custom gets sharper than any other steel I own.

It is a steel that really comes alive with a good edge on it like knifenut1013 is famous for. If you don't mind caring for a carbon steel it's perfect for both small, and large blades. Recall M4 was used to win several cutting competitions. Not only must it do unbelieveable things, but it loses points for chips or blade damage. Good stuff!

I've been using a Gaucho in M4 and have been more than satisfied.

At this juncture, I am of the opinion that Benchmade's M4 seems to be better than Benchmade's M2 and, therefore, I see it the steel as pretty grand.
