I have an M43 (no scabbard) with these markings:

On the left side of the blade between bolster and cho in 2mm letters:

J.N. B43

On the right handle scale in a 5 mm square impressed into the wood between rings and top rivet:

SA
50

Any ideas on what these markings signify? I am guessing that the blade markings are the maker's and the handle marking is an inspector's mark.

I don't find them in Flook's book.

Jimmy Neutron is on TV. He's a boy genius who flys to Mars and stuff.

Just a little khuk humor...did I sound like I knew what I was talking about, even for a second?

Not the famous Katmandu lounge band using khuks as percussion instruments?

(Well, maybe not an entire second, but most of one. :D )

Oh my Gosh! My brother has been looking ALL over for that! Those are his initials...he'll be SO glad to get it back!

Rush it to me Tom...I'll give it a good coating of mineral oil before I return it to him!

I'm sure your other brother "Fig" will be pleased as well.

Your brother's name is Jaipur? No wonder you're interested in khuks. I'll send it right away - after receipt of Shipping and Handling ( Note caps.)
(Let's see -- S&H on an M43 khuk -- hmmmm. . . . . )

Uh...nevermind. I don't really like him that much anyway ;)
