i was thinking of getting on of these jackets. & wondering the good, bad,&ugly about them and do they keep you warm or not thanks

I wore one a fair amount in the AF '72-'76.
Rugged, waist can be cinched in to discourage drafts from underneath, collar hood's thin but usable.
Good cool to cold weather jacket.
I outgrew my issued one long ago, still have it.
Bought a bigger one about 20-something years back, used to wear it all the time & wear it now on the UTV and shooting in the winter. Holding up well after a lot of use.

Surprisingly warm if you install the button in liner.

Don't know how well the current imports are made.

I wear mine with a sweatshirt and have no problem at all walking around with it open ........ has a good comfortable feel to it as well.

Great jackets. Nearly windproof shell. Work excelent even in cold weather if you layer under it.

I must be the only guy who hates them. They're cold, and even worse when wet. There's a good reason the Army stops issuing stuff; there's better gear available.

For $40 you can get a gore-tex parka that's surplus, and they are a better jacket.

I had 2 I still have my fathers and I had another that a sea-bee friend of mine had all embroidered up and I wore it all the time until I loaned it out to another friend who took off with it(not a friend anymore) get you a good military issue one and a good liner and you will be set great jackets!!
