I'm planning on getting one of these Friday.

The only video I've found, the knife was loose in the sheath when sheathed. It rattled around, even with the strap snapped.

Looks like a great knife, but that would drive me crazy.

Anyone else have that experience?

Well, lots of views, no replies. Obviously not many people have gotten these knives yet. Myself, I can't get it out of my mind lately.

I'm ordering mine Friday, will post some pics and report back.

Hi

My M7 is a snug fit but yes, there is some play in the sheath and vigorous shaking will result in a little movement. But that said, I found the sheath to hold the knife very securely and craftmanship is great.

I would not say best kydex ever but I rate it in the top 5% of kydex I own.

Cheers from Africa

Cool, and thanks for the reply, Aubrey! Gotta love this new global society. Not too many years ago, one would never think he'd be conversing with someone else so far away, and so easily to boot.

Ordered mine today, be here Saturday. I really like the look, of both the blade shape and the handle, I'm looking forward to it. This will be my first Lionsteel knife, and this is a good one to start with. :)

Have a great day Aubrey

I've been eyeballing them. They look excellent. The M7. Will have a SR2 i just bought tomarrow. I hear good things about Sleipner steel.

Also have the Legion on it's way. Started with the DPx Hest 2.0 folder .... love it. Says a lot .... my main users to date has been Mad Dog and Busse with the odd NWA and Bill Siegle in the mix. Went off the boil on Dozier and CRK a while ago .... not that ther is anytrhing wrong with any of these ...choices are personal.

Internet did shrink the world a lot :)

If the sheath is kydex, you should be able to adjust it. I always tweak my sheaths to get the fit that I want - it depends on how I will use it. I prefer a fit that is not touching the blade and then add a bump or squeeze here or there to tighten out rattle or increase draw force.

I use a heat gun and my bare hands but a hair dryer should work too.

Good to know, thanks! Mine arrives tomorrow but now I can adjust it if need be just like you said. Sweet.

Adnj,

Thanks again for the tip. I used a blow dryer held in a vise to heat and adjust the sheath on my new M7. Got the rattle 98% out!

Now need to tweak it slightly more still, but it works pretty good. I just need to ease the entry, using my excellent ESEE sheath as a template.

Which blade did you buy (satin or black)? What are your initial impressions on the knife as a whole?

I bought the satin to reduce scratching as I'm more of a collector, and I have some beat-up Cold Steel fixed blades I can, well, beat the crap out of and not worry one iota. They also don't cost what this does.

That being said, this is a knife that one does not have to worry about. Use away!

It is larger than I imagined, but the ergonomics are spot-on, especially when using the choke-up method using the finger choil.

The milling on the handle is impeccable and it makes for a secure hold.

The fit and finish is CRK quality, and that is saying something. But it is, at least on this M7 model I have. And I'm REALLY picky.

The sheath needs a little work but all the components are there and they are high-quality. The knife will rattle slightly in it, something ESEE for instance has tuned out of their sheaths but I'm working on that. Fun project and one I will sort out.

All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this knife. The guys in the office all had huge grins on their faces when I pulled it out - I always have stuff shipped to the office. They are not knife guys but they know I am, and I show them all my new acquisitions which has been pretty often lately.

This one brought out the kid in them, you could tell. The "that's COOL!" factor. Even over my recent Umnumzaans and Wilson Combat Eagles, their faces lit up on this one.

Which I guess says it all. Even to non-knife guys it was nice.

Oh - and I forgot - did the arm hair test while driving home with it, and it was a toss-up between which ones were getting shaved off and which ones were so scared they were just leaping out trying to get out of the way. It comes sharp!

Thanks for your impressions, this is definitely a knife I am interested in and I value your opinion. I'm looking for a knife this size and I have to say this is one I really want, the only thing putting me off is the price ($330 here where I live). I guess I just have to save and avoid adding more knives to my list :D
