M9 Bayonets

There's really only 2 available these days - the Ontario model and the LanCay model. Both are essentially the same as they are military specification grade and nothing more.

The question is, what do you want the knife to do?

I remember reading somewhere that the Phrobis was better made than the Lan Cay... How does the Lan Cay stand up to the Phrobis and the Ontario???

I really don't know. I'm not particularly impressed with any of the M9's in any aspect other than a pig sticker. It's not designed as a great field knife - it's an ok bayonet, but IMHO it should be a bit longer - like 3-4" longer. Once you start using it for anything other than a bayonet, there's tons of other knives out there that do a much better job as field users, it doesn't matter which companies knife you are looking at (Lancay, Ontario, Buck, etc).

The question boils down to, what do you want this knife to do?

CN-

There's a ton of 'em, but I'd say $60 for a BK&T Combat-Utility 7 is at the top of the "value field knife". You could spend more, but unless you're a heavy user/abuser of your field knive, may not get any more utility for the money.
