I would like to purchase an M9 bayonet from www.tapco.com (or somewhere cheaper if you have any ideas) if in fact the blade is 440c as it states in the item description. I have seen several M9 variants but most have either 420, or 420J stainless steel which I think is just crap. Can anyone verify that there is a 440c variant of the M9? I own some high carbon blades but I just want to own an M9 if in fact it has a 440C blade. Thank you for any help.

If this is the one youre referring too?:

If it is, that is NOT a US GI M9 Bayonet. It is probably a foreign made knock-off and an expensive one at that, considering you can get a real USGI one for about the same price, maybe cheaper. Whenever you see the word "Style" in a products name, that usually means "knock-off".

I dont know about the steel, but you can probably find the answers to anything M9-related here:

Thanks for the link! I appreciate the help, I did notice the "style" in the product description but I was willing to buy a knock off if it was truly 440c.

The M9 "clones" in 440C are Chinese junk. All US made M9's are modified 420. Pay for the good stuff - you will be happy you did.
