What ever happened to the M9 military survival knife/ bayonet? Why doesn't Buck still make them for the public? Thanks.

SD,
The demand for them kept going down and eventually ended up too low to justify the new tooling that was needed. I hated to see them go.

Thanks for the info. It's nice to be able to talk directly with Buck reps. It makes finding answers to questions much easier. Keep up the good work.

I got one of the Buck made Phrobris III models in the UK about two years ago. Most that I have discused this knife with, consider it a worthless knife. I hasten to add that while I consider the steel a bit poor (425, I am spoilt by D2 and M2!) I still quite like this knife. Hey it was in Space above and beyond after all! I would love to hear more about this knife, esp any personal comments from Buck or users.

Thanks all!

Buck blades owned- M9 and Bucklite small folder. Well its a start!

can we have a special run made by Ats-34 or BG-42 or D-2 Steel ?

This is truly a great field and combat knife

I believe the ATS-34 Version will be better then those Striders IMHO

Thanks

Please sir! Can I have some more?

A BG-42 or D2 M9! Wow

Put me down for one! How dificult would it be to do a small run for collectors and Bladeforum members? I mean a big company could surely let a limited edition run like that go?

Call it... material studies! You sell the materials, and we will pay and study them!

You got me dreaming there for a moment! But then i remembered that we could do it only if each knife sold for about $2000. Most of the tooling is gone and would have to be re-done. Oh well...
