Went fishin' Friday and almost hooked a gar but didn't. Then I just waded around looking for stuff to chop. Got skunked but the snake didn't. M9 was wet a lot but no rust. Slices through willow branches like butter.

I think it was a needle nose gar I had on; about 2.5 feet long. I waded right up to him and dangled a spinnerbait on his nose. Some people barbecue those things and swear they're good eatin', but I haven't tried it. They fight like hell but you gotta really set the hook hard or use some kind of nylon yarn to tangle their teef. Or smash them on the head with your M9!
