So according to the MGL chapter 260 section 10 b i can carry a fixed blade concealed on me correct? I like to go out in the woods allot so generally i would like to have a fixed blade on my person. I have a list of towns in MA which have blade length limits so i know when i cant carry it on me. I have never been in trouble with the law and i don't intend to be.

List of towns with blade length restrictions: Boston, Lawrence, Cambridge, Revere, Lynn, Salem, Lowell, Worcester, Marblehead, and Spencer. If anyone has a better list i would love to get a copy of it =)

You may wish to add Lowell, Worcester and Marblehead to your list, as I believe they also have blade length limits as part of their local ordinances. Remember one thing: concealed means concealed! Check yourself in a full-length mirror to make sure that your concealment technique is adequate. Me? I have carried a 4" lockblade folder since the summer of 1978 (after I graduated from high school), completely concealed and never had a problem.

Thank you! only took 96 views to find someone kind enough to help. Usually i always have my benchmade griptilian on me but you can't do much in the woods with it. Again thanks. Ill update my list of towns on the post =)

My specialty is skirting knife laws in MA lol. You can carry any fixed blade as long as it is not double edged. If you carry it openly and somone feels threatened then you can be charged with assault. Dond carry an open folder in your pocket. I know it sounds like common sence but there is an actual law against it. Even if you do get in trouble for some reason. you can easily beat it because cops know absolutely nothing here. Its also only a $50 fine for violating the knife laws here. Welcome to MA, GTFO ASAP lol

Thanks for the list of towns with length laws! Any good concealment tips for carrying a fixed blade on your person?

Its hard to describe but ill give it a shot. If you have a short kabar with a leather sheath, unzip your pants and take the knife out of the sheath. Next, mount the sheath upside down on the belt. Then fold it over the top of your pants so it hangs inside and pull up your pants. Now you can put the knife in and you have an improvised IWB sheath. I do this alot. The kershaw military also comes with a shoulder rig which is good when you are wearing a jacket. Scout carry also works pretty well.
