Ok, I read Bernard Levine's and I'm lost... Is the blade limit 1.5"? Can you carry fixed blades, or at least small ones?

The 1.5" limit is for autos and double-edged knives. From the reading, aside from outright illegal weapons and the aforementioned auto/double-edged provision, there is not a state size limit. That is how I read it.

Boston has a 2.5" blade limit, which has been discussed around here somewhere. I checked it recently since I travelled that way last month.

I carry fixed blades sometimes (from Pikuni to BK&T BK5 - latter for camping). I usually carry folders with between 2" and 4" blades.
