ok I know there is another thread that is out there about fighting movies...but I would like to be more specified toward martial arts...I would like to focus on martial arts of even some basic knife/weapon combat in movies out there...

I recommend viewing "The Hunted" featuring Tommy Lee Jones. Chris Sayoc and co. were the technical advisors for the blade work featured in the film.

"The Bourne Identity" and "Bourne Supremacy" also features Kali moves as directed under Martial Artist, Jeff Imada.

ONG BAK!!!! Tony Jaa is freakin cool in that movie. He has a promising career an a martial arts movie actor.

Legend of the Wolf (Donnie Yen). Some of it's not practical but some of it is and the fights are plenty and high speed. Lots of Machete fights too. Absolutely nuts! Fist of Legend (Jet Li). Again, not always practical but as a nod to Bruce Lee it is an excellent movie. More totally sick fights. The opening scene with the countless joint locks are hysterical. Also "Blade" not the Wesley Snipes one but the Tsui Hark one. Holy moly that move is not only well shot and directed but the fights are also NUTS!

Zatoichi..The Blind swordsman
Lupine Wolf..Baby Cart series
The Yakuza Papers
Master Killer Series
The Street Fighter series
To Kill the Golden Goose...Ed Parker vs. Bong Soo Han
Billy Jack series
Kill or Be Killed
Kill and Kill Again
The Duelists

Guromkb - I think you may mean the Lone Wolf and Cub instead of Lupine Wolf? Yeah, the baby cart series is pretty neat.

Check out NightHawks with Rutger Hauer and Sly Stallone - Rutger does Billy Dee Williams beautifully with a Gerber MKI and Sly does a nice job with his belt versus a mugger (while dressed in drag.)

The check out The Killer Elite with Jimmy Caan and I forget who else. LOTS of good close combat in that film.

Exposure (Peter Coyote) kinda slow flick but the knife fighting scenes are top notch!!! The first fight scene with Tcheky Karyo fighting tow thugs in Brazil and making short work of them with a blade is perfect!
