I've always used Simichrome or Flitz as my final finish polishes.

Maas was recently recommended to me by a knifemaker at a show.

I've tried it on some beater blades, and it seems to be terrific.

(And I can get it at my local Walgreens instead of having to order online.)

Anyone else have any experience using Maas?

Yeah, MAAS is great stuff. I discovered it about a year ago at walmart when I was looking for some Flitz. I've been building a lot of kit knives and was looking for something that worked as well as flitz but wasn't as costly. MAAS certainly filled the bill, and cost less than half of what Flitz does.

MAAS is an acronym right? What is it now?

No, it's just a name. On another thread someone said it's the last name of the company founder. Maas.

I just got some to try and it is very good. I found it at wally world in the cleaning supply section. It is a white tube smiler to tooth past and MAAS is in fact the name not an acronym.

Yep, been using it for years on restoring vintage straight razors, I like it better than Flitz or simichrome. I think it has lighter fluid in it, it really cuts through the old haze.

Yep. It polishes up metals both non-hardened and hardened very well.

I use it to load an old leather belt to strop... beware though, it cuts EXTREMELY fast.
