i have just "won" a Schrade Mac Tools 48th Anniversary knife. (1938-1986) looks like a 3 pin LB7, but the seller gave no measurements. it does look like a v. nice knife; the bolsters appearing a bit more rounded than standard issue. i hope i was not bidding against a forum member, but the price was low and there was time to counter my bid, so the other bidder wasn't too serious. it has been stored in it's box (no sheath !) in the fully open lock postion now for 21 years. i assume this is not harmful to spring as it should be at rest when fully open or closed (is how i think it works).
any comments or further info on this knife or the Schrade/Macs ? thanks, roland

I saw that knife. Looked nice, so I bid on it early, but I am taking a vacation before too long so I didn't bother bidding too high and spending money I might need while away. BTW, it's an LB5. Not sure why, but if you look closely, the LB5 doesn't have quite the same profile as the LB1, LB3, and LB7. The LB1 and LB3 have the same profile as the LB7, with the flat area of the front bolster where they used to stamp the serial number, before the dip in the side of the body. The LB5 doesn't have that flat area.

thanks dave, that's even better, i don't otherwise have an LB5. and Codger, as a member of the Schrade/MAC club, am i obliged to purchase 1 knife a month to maintain active membership ?
off topic, but i was just handling my 125OT and 25OT. are they ever nice knives ! roland
