Mach 1 - Icy Wintergreen... for lack of a better name.
Thanks to Gene Ingram (Thanks Gene!) I was able to get some of this cool a** Micarta. It's basically colorless, translucent green.
I made basic scale for the knife because I wanted something subtle to highlight to cool color of the material.
I also got rid of the cheesy plastic EKI backspacer in exchange for knurled standoff's (actually modified thumb studs
).
I may try to add some effect between the scales and the liner at some point, maybe flames or camo. At this thickness the material is quite clear so everythign shows through as a mildly colored shadow.
The white chalky look around the counter sunk holes is somewhat exaggerated in the picture for some reason. Gene was kind enough to give me a hint to try which I have not had a chance to do yet.
