Heyz folks..
I just bought a new Mach 1 today..just thought I might post some of my thoughts on the knife here...

The first word that comes to my mind whenever I see the Mach 1 BTS is "Tactical"...it feels great in the hand, the grip is good, the feeling is one which just makes it seem as if the knife is begging to be used....I like the heft of the knife too...it isn't too heavy, but you know its there...feeling kinda sleepy now..my brain doesn't seem to be functioning well....had my junior college exams just now....kinda tired now...i'll try to post more of my thoughts on this new knife of mine when i am more awake...

take care...
yawn....

Hey Lin,
I got 2 Mach-1s and you're right, they feel good in the hand and for me at least it's the perfect size. the only thing they're missing is
The Wave :)

Another British Emerson Fan,

Welcome my friend. Glad that you like your new knife.

Regards,

Ed

Hi folks..

laserman 1, I like the wave feature, but I somehow just like the way the Mach 1 looks without the wave..kinda looks more "fluid"....well...if emerson came out with a waved Mach 1, it wouldn't hurt either to get one of those as well...haha...

edmoses, yeahz....Emerson knives seem to have a different type of appeal, that being that they seem to appeal to those who like rugged stuff...Emerson knives might not have the same fit and finish as that of maybe a Microtech, or a Reeve, but they certainly have their own "inner rugged beauty"...I sort of realised that those who like Emersons tend to have the same attraction towards striders...

btw, why is it that the Mach 1 seems to be a sleeper? I don't seem to be able to find many reviews on this knife...pity...

take care folks...

Hi folks...
These past 2 days or so were horrible for me, as I was down with food poisoning..
anyway, these are my thoughts on the Mach 1 after a few days fondling with it...

Firstly, I really like the grip on this knife, as it really gives you that secure feeling in your hand when you hold it, and as with all other EKI knives, excluding the La Griffe, the knife feels very secure wherether its in Saber grip or in Reverse-Icepick grip...the deep finger choil is also great as the frontmost part of the handle provides the user with a good guard to prevent slipping of the hand onto the wickedly sharp blade....

The blade on the knife itself also seems to be well designed and has the great frontal belly of the Commander..and is well suited for penetration...
for slashing purposes, I think the Mach 1 would do quite well as it has ample belly for doing the job...and also, if you look closely, the Mach 1's blade is actually slightly recurved, rather then straight..cool!

well...as you can see, I really like this knife....

See if you can WAVE your Mach 1. Mine does it. It's a good knife but mine has a problem with the liner that showed up about two weeks after it came. I'm going to send it in, but I bought a Kershaw Avelanche and it kinda sidetracked me :D

heyz solid_soldier,
After playing with my new Mach 1 for a couple of days, I did notice the same thing;) , that is that I could use the thumbdisk to wave out the Mach 1..
i tried 20 times, and i managed to accomplish 18 full openings, with 2 partially deployed tries..

coolz.....:D ;)

I tried it with a CQC7b, BM710, and a BM730. It will basicaly work on almost any thumbdisk or dual thumbstud tip up folder.

You'll find that WAVE'ing it will get addictive. You might find yourself sneaking off to someplace where nobody's looking  and WAVE it a few times... Then you'll know that you are hooked. :D
