Has HI ever made a blade like the Greek Machaira?

It is similar in design to the Kukri. I would like to see one sometime.

Here's one that was originally marketed as a Machaera.

It looks like a khukuri but I think this is properly called a Machaera. This particular one is 28 inches and weighs 3 pounds. Blade is 2 & 3/4 wide and 7/16 thick. The handle is Machaera rather than khukuri style. Karda and chakma are 8 & 1/4 inch and excellently done.

I seem to recollect a couple with "C" shaped handles coming through also. Perhaps other forumites can help with those.

Well, I'm not an expert, but the greek machaira is closest in design to the falcatta I believe (?), and we have had a couple of those. Maybe Ferguson or some of our other ethnic weapon authorities could help.

Nice knife Howard. You've certainly got some sweeties. I wish you'd post a pic of your collection, so I'm not cought off guard like this. Now I'll be staring at that thing for hours.:p

Thats more like it! Drop the umbrella handle and you have a good example of a Greek Machaira.

Bandit if you're really serious about a Machaira you may have to make a model, that is if Yangdu will consent to try and have a run made.
I don't recall whether a model was made for the Falcata or not but seems that there was.
There also used to be a requirement that at least six people put in a firm order by pre-paying for a special order, again I don't recall what was done about the Falcata.
But to get one you will have to talk to Yangdu about it.

Im time. This was a spur of the moment idea I got when I was watching Alexander and noticed how much the Machaira Alexander was carrying looked much like the Kukri in design.

The only thing I really want now is the Kerambit. If enough people read this post and want one, I could do the draft and special run thing. But if it is just me, it isn't worth it.
