Hello BladeForums i just received some B-day money and i want to get some new "toys". I`m looking for a great machete with a heavy blade that can still be used to easily wipe out small brush with a blade between 13" and 20" long also i want a new fixed-blade that can really take a beating with around a 6" blade that is about 3/16" thick. Please help i want to make a decision ASAP
(note i'm on a tight budget around ~$40or less a piece unless its just really super great)
so PLEASE help ;)

Thank you for your help>

Condor has a huge selection of tough quality machetes and fixed blades in your price range. Ive never had one, but Ive only heard good things about them and lots of people on here recommend them. I have a 22"ontario machete thats thick and heavy, but the handle is uncomfortable (im making new scales for it). The shorter ones will probably be more comfortable due to them being lighter.

The Marble's machetes exclusive to SMKW can't be beat. Their around $15 and come with a sheath. Supposedly, the Marble's are made by Condor for SMKW. Both the bolo and scouting machete both are near your size range. I bought a Marble's scouting over the Ontario 13".

Whatever you choose, make sure it is what YOU like.

(Mods: If this is considered deal spotting please advise me and I will remove.)

thank you all but i have tried the rodan and im not a huge fan but i will look more into some more suggestions also no i don't consider it deal spotting

With those spec's I would say go cheap on the Machete, and spend a little more on the fixed blade.

-12" Ontario Machete
-Ka-Bar knife.

Cold Steel Magnum Kukri Machete

Ontario and Becker/Ka Bar make some excelent knives. You have to shop around for your price range though.

Go with a machete by Imacasa. My personal favorite is their 20" panga, but the pata de cuche model is a real crowd pleaser and comes in a range of 12"-28" (I really like the 28" one!) :D

cheap imacasa and decent fixed blade. esee six is all i can think of in those exact demensions. but is probably too much money.

As far as the fixed blades go you could always go with a Cold Steel Bushman. They can be had for a song and a dance and are absolutely tough as nails. Not the world's best handle but a cord wrap fixes that and you simply wouldn't believe the abuse I've put mine through over the years.

the cold steel bushman is the best knife i probably ever used!!! but i'm looking for something a little shorter and heaver
