I have used a fair variety of machetes and goloks with many various shapes and sizes over the years.

But, I have an ongoing internal debate with myself about the pros and cons of the various "Tips" style/shape of the blades.

Generally, I seem to prefer the following two tip variations over others.

Without providing my own thoughts at this time as to prevent "Leading", I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on pros and cons of the above tip variations for either machete or golok use.

Consider 12" - 18" blades.

Actual uses for given options is "Open" to discussion.

I know there are some heavy users out there. I would love to hear some feedback.

I prefer type 'A' because I often find myself using the very tip to cut things which are in inaccessible places. That tip style is useful when striking at something which is up against another surface that you don't want to hit.

Nobody does a clip or drop point machete that allows for a working point in addition to a defined sweet spot... I prefer option C.

They both have their uses, depends on your need.

A would be more for harvesting cane & food crops.

B would be for brush clearing, woodworking but also handier for processing meat & hides.

I perfer the panga style with a full thickness drop point such as the Blackjack panga. The sharp point just increases your options.
