I have 2 CS machetes, one is like a Roman sword and works fine. I bought the 18" kukri machete and some things it goes right through and others make me chop like the devil and experience bouncing and almost losing the knife! Handle texture is a bit rough on the hand also.

I've heard of guys mentioning certain tapes to wrap on the handle to give them more grip (not sure about cushoning impact). I'm going to install a lanyard today and get some kind of tape from your suggestions to make the handle feel better as well. Thanks!

I think folks are referring to what is sometimes called 'skateboard tape' also friction tape.

Pretty aggressive stuff IMO , not gentle on the mitts for long term use. :)

How about paracord wraps? Has anyone tried these? I've seen a couple in pictures but you never know until you use one. :)

Cziv, i took the handles off my 18 inch latin machete cause it was the hard propoylene style and didnt feel good at all, i am going to try making some homemade micarta slabs and rehandling it, as for the paracord wraps, i also have a 12 inch barong machete from cold steel that i took the handles off as well and i am actually wrapping it in paracord as we speak hehe, i found some vids on youtube that are very instructional and show you how easy it is to do!, some people soak the paracord aswell before wrapping this way when it dries it tightens...

Does anyone know the hole sizes on this machetes? i want to buy pins for them but dunno what size to get
