I bought a machete today . Four bucks. The blade has TRUSTWELLBROSLTD SHEFFIELD 1945 MARTINDALE REGISTERED and what appears to be a crocodile inscribed on it. The handle appears to be rubber. Any of you blade dudes no anything about it?

Martindales or Crocodile Brand machetes are very good quality. They are overpriced right now and often unavailable, but you got a winner. With the 1945 date on it, yours is worth a bit more. Believe it or not, there are those who pay $30 to $100 for WWII machetes, depending on the model, sheath, conditon, etc.

Good. It feels heavy. I plan on cutting a path to a fishing spot. It should do the job.

Another Question. How should a machete be sharpened? Like a knife with about a 20 degree angle?

Heres the Machete and a knife I picked up.
