I got around to using my Fiddleback machete to take out some thistle in the garden and took out some rocks in the process. Any tips or tricks to sharpening the edge???

I use a Lansky Puck. If it's real bad I start with a file.

I 2nd "The Puck" method. Though I have yet to use my Fiddleback machete, I routinely beat the heck out of a Condor golok machete and always clean it up and take out any nicks with the puck

Yes A file to bring everything so that those chips are gone or I use my 2 x 72" belt grinder and start with a ceramic 60 g, then 120G then 600 Grit belt.

Slow speed and dip in water to keep things

The best option is to discard after each use and get a fresh one going. Otherwise, take a file to it :)

Haven't sharpened my Fiddleback machete yet, but I've always used a Lansky puck to sharpen machetes. A DMT diafold is nice for machetes, too. It's kind of like using a less abrasive file.

Thanks all for some reason hadn't thought about the 'ol puck. I'll have to dig it out.
