Bought a Sax machete on close out a little over a year ago.
Took it out a few times and used it to clear the blackberry jungle behind our house.
Wiped the blade down and threw it into my bedroom closet. There it sat for about 6 months until I brought it out to show it to a friend and brag about what a cool, functional blade it is.
As I unsheathed it it felt kind of weird??
Went to put it back into the sheath and it only went in about halfway. Pulled it back out and little pieces of the kydex, (plastic?), liner came out with it...
Flex it a little bit upside down and it rained black kydex chips all over my bedroom floor.
I did not put it away wet, nor was it exposed to any harsh chemicals. It was stored indoors, in a cool, dark, climate-controlled closet.
The sheath is pretty much unusable now...
Anyone else ever experienced this?
What caused it?
Are there replacement sheaths available?
Contacted CS customer service, but they never returned my email :-(
