Machete Sheath

I recently purchased a Fiddleback Forge 12 inch blade machete. I need to get a sheath for it and I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good kydex maker. I really don't want to have to send it off to be fitted for one. I would like a sheath that is ambidextrous, set up for large tek lok and be able to have a removable dangler. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I make leather sheaths for the Fiddleback Machete's and have a bunch in stock. I have some Kydex and the press, but have not started working with it yet. Good luck with your search.

Thanks, I spoke with you on Facebook and I might end up going with a leather sheath.

I sent my Machetes to Eric at MashedCat. He does most of my kydex work. After a bit of back and forth we went with the thinner kydex to keep the weight down. I couldn't be happier as they are light as a feather. The square bottoms were my idea for reasons I can't explain...they just look cool to me. Because there isn't much to grab on the handles and the kydex is thin, Eric added the drop loupe with extra retention straps.

EDIT: The 16" has since been sold but my modded 13" is a keeper. I would like to get my hands on a twelve someday.

Ahh, I wondered. Posted some Machete sheaths earlier today.

Those are some good looking sheaths. I see no reason why .06" thin kydex would have problems. I have a bunch of it just waiting to make some neck knife sheaths. The nylon belt loop with keeper strap is nice. :)

I think I'm going to have my local knife shop make me one. I called and spoke with them today and found out they can make a sheath for a machete. I've used them in the past for smaller knives and they have always been good to me. Thanks for the replies and least I have some options if I don't like what they have to offer.
