Machete Sheath

I’m putting a vehicle kit together.

Once upon a time my car kit rebelled, broke the trunk lock, and ran away. Or something.

I’ve used inexpensive components for such kits ever since. No Battle Mistresses need apply. No Emberlits need apply.

For cutting tools I plan:

1. A 12” bow saw carrying wood and hacksaw blades.
2. A Mora All Around.
3. An 18” Latin style machete.

Tramontinas are good and cheap. But they come without sheaths.

I want a good, least-expensive sheath for a 18” Latin style. Mostly it will ride in the kit. It should stand the heat in a trunk in summer. It should belt mount. It should have weep holes.

Wear a sheathed machete and take a tumble. I don’t trust a floppy sheath for that. Safe is more important than cheap.

What do you guys recommend?

Check out a Ben Meadows Forestry Supply catalog or on line. Heavy cordura with a plastic liner. I have used the 12" & 18" for several yrs now and still in good shape.--KV
