Years ago I owned a Machete type knife roughly similar to Al Mar Pathfind but on the spine close to the upswing of the bolo style bladewith a pointed end was a sharpen gut hook style thing that was sharp for cutting on vines or whatever you hung on, it was roughly 18-20" overall and blade was about 14" had a black handle with a lanyard loop that was offset from the handle a little, i think it was 1095 blade it had markings on it by the handle but it has been so long since I misplaced it or somebody borrowed and never returned AKA: stolen , it had no sheath, Just need a little help on a picture or where to find another buy/trade whatever to get another one of those knives from my past that I always think about !:)

yeah but it is not a woodsman pal, they are blunt on the end, this machete / large knife has almost a skinner type belly with the gut hook on the back side I looked on ebay, google images,I guess I'll keep searching high & low for it, It will turn up somewhere for sale or trade...

These were machetes imported from Japan for a very small bit of time. Nothing similar is made today. They do show up on Ebay from time to time, so keep hope alive:).

Tony, what about the idea of ordering one of Cold Steel's inexpensive bolo machetes and cutting your own "vine hook" into the back of it near the point? Just a thought.

Hey Guys..

Tony..

I know Exactly what you are talking about..

I also had one of those....

The one I had was similar to the one in the fleabay link,, but not exactly...

Never found it much use for vines, although I was probably about 12-14 when I had it...

Keep watching it, cause a lot of people like to bid very close to the end of the auction period (like 10-20 seconds close).

I had one about 18 years ago. It was great for cutting brush. The hook was great for grabbing the limbs after you cut them. It was borrowed by a friend who misplaced it. I do remember it had Limb Trim on it. I always wanted to get a becker patrol machete because they seemed to be weighted the same. The steel seemed to be better than anything else available to me at the time.

Man, that was cool to watch...guy looking for an incredibly obscure blade...asks on W&S...and boom...not only does somebody know what he's talking about and somebody else used to have one but THEN somebody finds one for him. Just incredible.

Do any of you know where I could find the keys to an orange '79 Volvo 245DL wagon with a crack in the windshield and a dent in the rear bumper? I lost them 16 years ago. I had new ones made and I don't even own the car anymore but not knowing where I lost those keys has really weighed on my mind. Just so nobody wastes their time, I already checked in the couch.

That was great huh ?:) just hope my bid holds if not , i know what I am looking for now and have a few names to search under to find another if needed. Thanks ya'll !!!!:D

I had to do some recollecting ....did the elusive volvo keys have a vw key fob attached ? I think they we're last seen with my machete 16yrs ago the same person borrowed and never came back with'em.....:D

well I chased down one of my Favorite knife/machete of my childhood :) that I used alot when I was younger, now I can hold on to this one and nobody will borrow it ever again,:D now I foresee my son losing it, I guess I better buy two !!! LOL :) Thanks to you guys & BF ...
