I haven't heard of that one JW, got any more info?

Concerning regular machetes, I too recommend Tramontina and Ontario, but my favorites are the Martindale Golok No. 2 and 23" South American style.

Totally agree.

After the Golok #2, I like the 12" Ontario Machete ("Economy" model, which is thinner stock and thus quicker/lighter).

I picked up a Corona recently. I haven't tried it out yet, because I will have to regrind the shamefully lopsided edge grind on it before I can even sharpen it for use.

The handle looks OK at first, but on closer inspection, there are a lot of "flashes" that weren't cleaned off after the plastic was molded on that will have to be trimmed down before use to avoid blisters.

The Sheath is very loose and too short to cover the full blade length.

Other than that, its great.

Actually, I'll try to be fair and see how it does after I've modded it to be fit for duty, but there are a lot of other machetes out there that are better "out-of-the-box" and comparably priced IMO.

I was at lowes yesterday & saw them & it said lifetime warranty ! so I thought it might be an ok blade . I usually pack my CS khukuri machete  But when I get a chance, I'm going to get myself a 12" Tram!

:thumbup:Thanks for posting the link big mike. I was going to, but I am unsure how to do that. I just pmd the details to them:D

They carry those Coronas at the Army Navy near my house. Wasnt really impressed with them. Never did buy one I had Trams on the way. Glad I didn't get the Corona. For $8 the Tram is a much better machete.

The BRKT machete will be awesome--Mike is changing the shape and grind of the knife and putting a contoured handle with Loveless bolts. It will be paired with a top quality leather sheath made by Sharpshooter Sheath Systems.

They will be one heck of a tool!

These days I am using a Tram every day (mostly the 12"), they are great machetes. Modify them a little bit, sharpen them a little each day, beat the hell out of 'em!!
