I requested a few ideas a few weeks back on ideas to hold a 5 quart pot above a MSR Pocket Rocket (the mix of ultralight meets group necessity). The most common response was to use tent stakes, but I am going as a leader and middle school and high school kids will be using these and I don't trust them to properly install the stakes. I cut four 8" rings out of some aluminum tube we had at my shop, then faced them off, added holes (some tapped some just for lightening) and added some 8" bolts. The pots are from Big Lots and only cost $6! They are thin stainless steel and weigh about under a pound, they were an awesome find! Now I have to decide what knives to bring...

It is nice working in a machine shop, but even these took me four 1 hour lunch breaks. I could have been punched in for most of that time, which makes these rather expensive, but when you make something yourself you know it's done right and you know it will last.

Pretty classy solution, and it's really cool when you can have something that nice and say you did it yourself.
