I went to an auction Saturday. There were some BurrKings as well as some other buffers and grinders. I'm just starting to work a bit with blades and I've been wanting a belt grinder but haven't yet got up to speed on the good/bad on diff models/mfgrs. The BK's had seen heavy use, wheels well worn some quite badly. The only one I liked I quit bidding on cause I wasn't 'sold' on having it and didn't want to get upside down with my $ if I had to sell it. I did bring home an Ellis belt grinder, model 6000,1hp 3450rpm, 5000sfm belt speed (?), 2 1/2 x 60" belt. Looks like it may be missing some acc. parts. I called Ellis Mfg. for parts catalogue and operation manual. My main interest at this time is to make some small fixed blades, clean up some old blades that I already have needing resurecting. Figure I can use it on other 'projects as well, looks like a well made tool. Anyone out there with knowledge (good or bad) that can enlighten me on this grinder?
